Three Common Problems We Can Treat with Invisalign
We are happy to provide our Orangeburg patients with orthodontics like Invisalign that are easy to wear and produce outstanding results. Treatment with Invisalign is comfortable, efficient, and produces consistently beautiful results.
During your Invisalign consultation, Dr. Aronson will speak with you to understand what you are trying to accomplish and how we can help you reach that goal. He will evaluate your case, discuss his findings, and recommend the appropriate treatment for you.
We regularly use Invisalign to address three common orthodontic problems:
1. Crooked/Crowded Teeth
Overcrowded teeth result when there simply isn’t enough room in your jaw for all the teeth to fit normally. If not treated, overly crowded teeth can worsen over time, resulting in severely crooked teeth. Aside from the obvious esthetic problem, crowding can cause plaque to accumulate in hard-to-reach areas, leading to decay and an increased risk of gum disease.
2. Uneven Gaps and Spaces between Teeth
Gaps between teeth are the result of continued abnormal growth of the jawbone. If you are missing teeth, you will notice that your surrounding teeth will start to move because of the extra space, creating gaps in your teeth. If these spaces aren’t eliminated, you may face the increased risk of periodontal disease because of difficulty cleaning and exposed gum tissue.
3. Correcting Overbites
You have an overbite if your upper teeth bite down over the lower teeth. An overbite can exist for any of a number of reasons. Most typically, these reasons include genetics, improper oral hygiene habits, or overdevelopment of the bone that holds the teeth in place. Overbites lead to gum irritation and/or unusual wear on the lower teeth, which can cause painful problems in the jaw joint.
